2013 정기 고연전 The first day of a regular sports event between Korea Univ. and Yonsei Univ.

After opening ceremony, the real 고연전 KoYeon-jeon started with the baseball game.

Whenever I see this scene, I feel touch. There are fewer people than gathering when World Cup 2002 Korea, it is still awesome. Yonsei Univ. was along the first-base line, and Korea Univ. was along the third-base line. There were closed outfield seats.

There are not only Korea Univ. and Yonsei Univ. students but also there are a little baseball team and family of companions.

Even though the game was doing, Yonsei Univ. wasn't filled. However, Korea Univ. was full filled. Because there was no seat along the third-base line for KU, they got some more seats on the outfield extraordinarily.

Actually, the best part of KoYeon-jeon is cheering not sports game itself. It is cheering.

Hey, little gir! Are you a KU student?

When they do cheering with the songs 붉은노을 Bulgeun-Noeul (A flaming sunset), and 샹젤리제 (Champs Elysees), they use red plastic bag.

OMG! Some of Yonsei Univ. students came to KU stands.

So, I went to Yonsei Univ. stands.

During the break time, each school broadcasts the simple show. They cheat other school with parody. After this show, I came to school back for a class.

2013 정기 고연전 개막식 Opening Ceremony of a regular sports event between Korea Univ. and Yonsei Univ.

It was a very clean day. Even though I had lots of things to do, I went to Jamsil stadium to see the big sports event of my school. It calls 고연전 KoYeon-jeon which is known as 연고전 YeonKo-jeon for ordinary people (For pronunciation GoYeon or YeonGo is better). KoYeon-jeon is called only among Korea University students. KoYeon-jeon is a compound with Ko from Korea Univ. and Yeon from Yonsei Univ. There were baseball, basketball, and ice hokey as the sports for the first day of the events. However, I have to get a ticket for basketball game, and ice hockey hold in different place with other sports where is too far. This event hold for two days every autumn.

There were many stalls to sell the souvenir for the event. There are t-shirs, cocktail, tattoo stickers, and so on.

Blue for Yonsei Univ. and red for Korea Univ. However, the real name of those colors are Royal blue and Crimson.

Such a long line was there. The reason why they made a long line is to get a free souvenir from the school.

It was towel for this year.

Books for cheer songs

The red plastic bags are for cheering. After cheering, it can be used as garbage bags. So, I think it is most useful item of this event.

Since it is held by Yonsei University on odd year, the formal name of this event is KoYeon-jeon. But for Korea University students, it is always KoYeon-jeon. However, it is know as YeonKo-jeon for general.

When I entered the stadium, opening ceremony was doing.

Since it is not started the game yet, it is not filled with students.

Yonsi Univ. has fewer students than Korea Univ.

승리 is victory in Korean.

Another free souvenir(?) is a paper hat.

They made these kinds of shirts as a unit of departments.

At the end of the opening ceremony, each shcool's presidents and cheerleading squads gird their school's loins toward their students.
